Sam the Speed Skier
I'm Sam and I'm a speed skier – I go really fast down the slopes and often go more than 200 km/h! I wear this special suit that helps me cut through the wind and my skis are 2.4m long!
I love living in Christchurch because there are lots of Ski fields so close to the city. When I'm not practicing for my Speed Skiing competitions I just like to hit the slopes and relax. Have you ever tried skiing? It's so much fun.
I'm trying to learn how to snowboard too. I seem to fall over a lot though because I'm not very good. I think it's awesome that the ski fields give you free wrist guards to wear. Make sure you ask from them if you go up the mountain. My friend Annabelle went once and wasn't wearing any wrist guards, and then she fell over and broke her arm. I also have a helmet that I wear on the mountain. Not only does it keep my safe but it keeps my head really warm.
