Polly the Parrot
I'm Polly the parrot. I have lots of different coloured feathers. I like to eat flower and nuts, but fruit is my favourite. I have only four toes on each foot, two point forward and two point back – this helps me to grip onto things.
Parrots are some of the most intelligent birds around – some of us can even imitate human voices.
The Kea and the Kakapo are mountain parrots native to New Zealand. The Kakapo is the only flightless parrot in the world. It's also the only nocturnal parrot in the world. Even though the Kakapo doesn't fly it is an excellent climber and uses its wings for balance.
